Large crowds have gathered at several roads which lead up towards the Spanish Parliament. However their road towards the main entrance of the Parliament building is blocked off by metal railings, Police fence and hundreds of Spanish riots police. Tonight's demonstration was organized via social media sites. And a lot of young people have turned out. Many of those protesting tonight wants fresh elections something sound likely to happen. Spain's government is committed to cutting its public spending and increasing its revenue via a raft of economic reforms.
A leading human rights group says the Syrian government is using sexual violence to degrade and humiliate rebel prisoners. Former detainees have given the BBC graphic details of the torture and rape of both male and female activists arrested by the Syrian authorities. But Human Rights Watch says independent verification of the claims is impossible. The Syrian government has rejected the accusations.
The presidents of Sudan and South Sudan have been holding talks for a third day to try to reach a comprehensive solution to the many disputes which have brought their countries close to war since the South seceded last year. Pessimism about positive outcome has tinged their meeting in Ethiopia. But a member of Sudan negotiating delegation told the BBC that the two sides had not reach an agreement on economic relations.
