The President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, says he will
take action
to improve air safety in Nigeria following a plane crash on Sunday that killed more than 150 people. He was speaking as he visited the site of the crash in a crowded area of Lagos.
"So as a nation, it's a very sad event. We have been working very hard to improve the aviation conditions in the country. For those of you who travel a lot, you've noticed the improvement going on in our airports. So the government is totally committed to improving the quality of the aviation in the country."

The Nato military alliance has agreed deals with three Central Asian nations allowing it to transport military equipment from Afghanistan.
