There are reports of a violent clash in southwestern China between residents and security forces after a Tibetan manset himself on fire. Tibetan rights groups said a crowd had tried to take the man away from police after the flames wereput out. It's not known whether he survived. It would be the 16th self-immolation by Tibetans in less than a year in a series of protests against Chinese rule.
