Syria says it hopes its compliance with international weapons inspectors will help charge minds of government, inspectors said earlier that all Syria's declared chemical weapons production facilities have been destroyed or made inoperable. James Robins reports.
For weeks now the specialist inspectors of OPCW have been visiting Syria's chemical weapon's factories, under their supervision the Syrian government did much of actual destruction, often that simply means smash out containers and pipework, inspectors were only able to make full visit to 21 or 23 chemical sites the other two are in areas being fought over in the civil war, but they are satisfied all material there have also been destroyed.
Here in Britain the jury of the trial of 8 former employees Rupert Murdoch's media empire have been told 2 of the defendants were having an affair, Rebeca Brooks and Andy Coulson the both former editors of the News of Worlds under accused of charges related phone hacking, among the voicemail message accessed with the 13-year-old girl Milly Dowler who disappeared and was murdered. The prosecution says jury need to know about the affair because it showed trust between the two people, the key element to the claim that they conspire to hack voicemails. The letter from 2004 was found hidden in a cupboard of Rebeca brooks's house, she writes “You are my very best friend, I tell you everyone, I can find in you, I seek you advice, I love you. The court was also told the two and another defendant were involved in a criminal conspiracy to hack Milly Dowler's phone in the weeks of she disappear over a decade ago.
