A peace deal between the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo and rebels from the M23 movement has been delayed. The two sides have been holding talks in the Ugandan capital Kampala and a signing ceremony was due to be held on Monday. India's mission to Mars suffered a brief engine failure while scientists were trying to move the craft into a higher orbit around Earth. Jonathan Amos reports.
After launching Mangalyaan in a blaze of publicity last week, the Indian space agency is now under pressure to deliver a successful mission. A transfer to mars requires the probe to fire its engine several times pushing itself further and further from Earth with each step. But in the fourth of these engine burns, the spacecraft achieved only 25% of the expected distance. An unplanned additional firing will now try to make up the shortfall. No one is yet raising the alarm over the status of Mangalyaan. But engineers all want to see a perfect maneuver from their probe to settle any nerves.

He said that restoring confidence in Jamaica's track and field program depended on a radical shakeup of what he called the sports woeful testing regime.
