[00:03.85]The United Nations says the damage caused by typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines will require a huge international response.
[00:10.61]The UN says that the local officials estimated that the storm killed 10,000 people in a single city Tacloban.

[00:19.88]The destruction from the typhoon is massive and unprecedented according to the UN humanitarian officials who are helping to coordinate the relief.
[00:28.74]Almost 10 million people have been affected and 660,000 displaced from their flattened communities.
[00:35.50]The UN has described the response in the Philippines government as very impressive, but clearly much more needs to be done on the ground.
[00:43.32]Response teams have focused on providing purified water, food, shelter and medical support for the survivors,
[00:50.09]while an urgent priority is to bury dead bodies because of the risk of spreading disease.
[00:54.72]But the relief effort is being hampered by the damage to roads and local infrastructure.
