The United States has warned Israel and the Palestinians not to do anything to undermine the newly resumed Middle East peace talks which were suspended in December 2008. A State Department spokesman Philip Crowley said that if either party seriously undermined the trust, they'd be held accountable. The indirect talks have been mediated by President Obama's Middle East envoy George Mitchell.

In the final round of matches in the Premier League, Chelsea thrashed Wigan eight-nil to finish one point ahead of their nearest rivals Manchester United. Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti could now beat his predecessor José Mourinho's achievements and win both a league and FA Cup trophies.Chelsea's Didier Drogba who scored a hat-trick said it felt good to be back on top.

In China, a man who's spent almost ten years in prison for murder has been cleared after his supposed victim was found alive and well. A court statement said Jiao Zuhai had had a fight with his neighbour who subsequently disappeared. He was charged when a headless decomposed body was found 18 months later. The misscarriage of justice came to light when the neighbour recently returned to his village.
