美国习惯用语-第245讲:to blow one\'s own horn

例句1: Do you know Joe Jones next door to me in my dorm? Nobody likes him - he\'s always blowing his own horn about what a great athlete he is and how much the girls all chase him.

这个学生说：你知道我宿舍里住在我隔壁的那个乔.琼斯吗？因为他老是喜欢吹嘘自己，所以没有一个人喜欢他。他总是夸耀自己是一个多么好的运动员，那些年轻姑娘又如何一个个地苦苦追求他。

例句2: My cousin introduced my sister Lisa to Frank, a famous Harvard economics professor. He\'s interested in her but Lisa says she can\'t stand him because all he does is blow his own horn about his latest book on economics and how popular he is among his students.
