Days after the release of the 'Red Dawn' remake, which swapped the 1982 original's Soviet threat for a modern-day Asian invasion, hateful, fearful and mocking messages have begun popping up on Twitter, the Internet's default channel for off-the-cuff racism and 'did I say that out loud' ignorance.

The grassroots Asian American mediawatch organization Racebending posted a selection of these tweets, and a quick search shows that they've continued to stream in at a steady rate, with posters stating that the movie made them 'suspicious' of Asians, or 'really made me hate [them]…#sorrynotsorry' ─ or worse, expressing the desire to commit violence in retribution for the movie's entirely fictional attack:
