Former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson led an unofficial U.S. delegation that arrived in Pyongyang on Monday and included Google Inc. Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, a visit the group has described as a humanitarian trip and is proceeding despite objections from the U.S. State Department.
前新墨西哥州州长理查森(Bill Richardson)率领一个美国非官方代表团周一抵达平壤,随行团员包括谷歌(Google Inc.)执行董事长施密特(Eric Schmidt)。该代表团称此行是一次人道主义访问。虽然美国国务院表示反对,但这次访问最终成行。
The group includes Jared Cohen, a former State Department official who founded Google's think tank, Google Ideas, and Tony Namkung, a longtime adviser to Mr. Richardson who has previously traveled with him to North Korea. It is expected to spend three days in North Korea.
代表团成员包括前国务院官员、谷歌智库Google Ideas创始人科恩(Jared Cohen)以及理查森的长期顾问南孔(Tony Namkung)。南孔此前曾与理查森一起访问过朝鲜。预计代表团将在朝鲜逗留三天。
Speaking in Beijing before departing, Mr. Richardson said North Korea would decide the itinerary of the trip.

Mr. Schmidt, an advocate for Internet freedom, hasn't spoken publicly about his motivation for joining the visit to a country that restricts Internet access to all but a tiny group of the ruling elite.
