The Kenyan Red Cross says more than 20000 Ethiopians have crossed into Kenya to escape clashes between two ethnic groups. The Red Cross says Ethiopian forces have intervened to halt the fighting but the people continue to flee across the border. The refugees have been housed in schools near a mosque just inside Kenya. Ethiopian websites said at least 50 people were killed in three days in clashes.

in the swimming pool of the London 2012 Olympics, the 400 meters’ individual medley has been won by the American swimmer Ryan Lochte. It’s the first gold medal in the games for the United States. The 16-year-old swimmer from China Ye Shiwen to gold in the women’s 400m medley in a world record time. Our sports correspondent Alex reports.
