GRE俚语：刚入行怎么说
美国著名导演Steven Spielberg也在好莱坞的Universal Studio实习过，而且当时也是没有工资的。不过，得到实习的机会就使他进入了制片业的圈子 he got his foot in the door。后来他就成了一个名导演。
To get ones foot in the door你猜得出这个习惯用语是怎么来的吗?有人说，这个习惯用语跟推销员有关。在电脑和信息时代以前，美国公司常雇用推销员挨门挨户地兜售产品。住家的主人一般都不会请推销员进屋，所以他们首先要做到的就是把一只脚伸进门里，got his foot in the door，这样主人就不能关门了。

例句-2：My goal is to become a full-time teacher at the University but there arent any openings at the moment. So, Ive decided to register there as a replacement teacher. At least that way Ill get my foot in the door, and maybe down the road Ill be the first in line if there is an opening.
这个人说：我的目标是当一名全职的大学老师。可是现在没有空缺。我于是决定在那里登记当代课老师。这样我至少先进入大学了，以后如果有空缺的话，我就可能是第一人选了。
在美国找工作，雇主很看重你的经验。所以很多大学生都会在夏天打工实习，为以后的就业积累经验。
