Ann: It was a terribly hot summer, indeed. Do you remember the day our air conditioner broke down? The temperature stayed above one hundred for four straight days. There wasnt a breeze anywhere. But thats not what its like in Miami. There are soft breezes every day.
Bob: Whats wrong with a few low temperatures? It makes living here in New York interesting.
Ann: I know what youre going to say about the snow, its a winter wonderland. But its freezing.
Bob: Its beautiful.
Ann: The temperature will go below freezing again tonight. The sidewalks are covered with ice. We have to shovel the snow off the steps every day. Thats not enjoyable. Im tired of being cold. I wish spring were here.
Bob: Well, I agree that winter does seem too long.
Ann: This constant cloudiness really gets me down. Last night on the news, the weatherman said it would be cloudy for the rest of the week. It looks like another storm is coming.
Bob: Yes, the winds are already beginning to pick up.
Ann: The sky would be clear from sunrise to sunset in Florida. The winds would be warm and comfortable. No heavy winter clothes. No slipping on the ice.
Bob: Okay, youve talked me into it. Lets get ready and go south.
