Rather than asking them to judge the quality of a player s cards, however, he asked them torate either that player s confidence or how smoothly the player pushed his chips into themiddle of the table.

　　He found that when students rated players as being confident or having hands that movedsmoothly, the cards they held were likely to be good.

　　There was a positive correlation of 0.15 when the students considered confidence and of0.29 when they looked for smooth movement, so they were actually more capable ofdetermining hand quality from these variables than when asked to estimate it directly. 所以在判断选手手牌好坏时，相对于直接估量，志愿者学生可以从这些变量中更好地做出判断。
