Waterstones, formerly Waterstone's, is a British book retailer that operates 275 stores and employs around 3,500 staff in the UK and Europe as of February 2014. Established in 1982 by Tim Waterstone, after whom the company was named, the bookseller expanded rapidly until being sold in 1993 to W H Smith.

皇室御用书店—哈查兹书店(Hatchards)

Hatchards is the oldest bookshop in the United Kingdom. It was founded by John Hatchard in 1797 in Piccadilly in London, from where it still trades today. Mr Hatchard's portrait can be seen on the staircase of the shop today.

哈查兹书店不仅拥有女王、爱丁堡公爵和威廉王子三个皇室御用证书，为女皇一家子提供书籍满载荣誉，称她为英国贵族书店就顺理成章。它也有很多名人老顾客，如王尔德和拜伦。至今，哈查兹书店还传承着过去的精神，一个忠实的顾客这样描述书店的内部：“这使人想起在一个漫无边际的老房子里面，六个楼层的小房间都连在一起围着中央楼梯。”
