Los Angeles (E! Online) - Lindsay Lohan may be facing a cocaine charge to go along with her DUI. Or not. Either way, her lawyer is pretty peeved. Blair Berk has called the Beverly Hills Police Department "shameful" after someone apparently leaked a preliminary report claiming the troubled actress had cocaine in her system and a blood-alcohol level nearly double the legal limit during a May car crash.
While she declined to comment on the allegations, saying it was an ongoing investigation, Berk said the police department is "selling" an "unverified" story.
The contents of the preliminary police investigation were first reported on Thursday by TMZ.
Lieutentant Mitch McCann, a spokesman for the Beverly Hills police, said that he was unable to confirm the details and declined further comment until the final report is ready in the coming days.
Likewise, Los Angeles County District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison says the office is still awaiting toxicology results and no charges have been filed against the 20-year-old Mean Girls star.
With Lohan's arraignment not taking place until Aug. 24, there's plenty of time for the police and prosecutors to get their story straight.
Lohan was arrested over Memorial Day weekend, when she plowed her Mercedes over a curb and into some trees. Police said they discovered a "usable amount" of a substance believed to be cocaine on the scene of the May 26 crash. Two days later, it was Berk who reportedly shuttled Lohan to Promises Malibu to sober up.
