There was speculation in July that Miss Minogue was seeking a reconciliation with Martinez after the pair were spotted dining in Paris.

But in the interview she confirms that they are not together, saying: "I think he has a girlfriend, I'm not entirely sure."

The singer has been linked with music producer Calvin Harris in recent months.

Although she remains on good terms with most of her exboyfriends, she adds that she is not ready to be friends with Martinez.

"I don't like confrontation. You can be civil and friendly but to have a proper friendship, you need to allow a certain amount of time to pass."She says her battle with cancer profoundly changed her as a person.

"What I believed before my ill-ness has only been enhanced since, and that's that beauty comes from within. But I don't see myself the way other people see me.

"When you are stripped of everything and you have to grow your eyelashes back, grow your hair back, it's just astonishing.

"It is hard to express what I have learnt from that, but a deep physiological and emotional shift has happened."

Miss Minogue admits that during her illness she had "shrunk to nothing" and at other times "ballooned", adding: "My body is not what it used to be but it is the body I am in."

When her cancer was diagnosed, the star was in Australia in the middle of her sell- out Showgirl tour.
