World Cup champion Hu Yadan beat Olympic gold winner Chen Ruolin to grab the gold of women's 10-meter platform in the China Star Diving Series here on Saturday.

The 14-year-old Hu showed consistence and stable performance during the first four dives. She gave the final dive with a high degree of difficulty and won the competition with 91.20 points.

Chen, the 2008 Beijing Olympic champion, also gave outstanding dives during the preliminary competition, but she made a mistake in the final dive and had to settle for the bronze with 81.60.

Ma Sinuo got the silver with 86.40 points.

The two-day Diving Series with four events kicked off in Wuhan city on Saturday, attracting many Chinese diving stars from the national team.
