Bolivian President Evo Morales on Sunday sent a letter to invite the president of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), Joseph Blatter, to inaugurate the fields of synthetic grass and watch a match of students soccer in Bolivia, according to local press.
Bolivia's Presidency spokesman Ivan Canelas said that they are waiting for the answer to the invitation made to Blatter, taking into account the good friendship between him and Morales.
According to Canelas, it is expected that Blatter, besides attending the inauguration of the fields, also have a meeting to learn about the difficult financial situation of the Bolivian soccer.
"It is my wish, my dear friend, that we could inaugurate with you one of these sports fields or to be present at the finals of the Students Tournament being hosted in Cochabamba city in October," Morales' letter said.
"I have received your polite letter of Sept. 3. I want to tell you that I will be waiting for the arrival of the FIFA and the South American Soccer confederation commission to talk about the issues we all are interested at, the sports and soccer," the letter added.
Canelas said that the Bolivian government has paid special attention to the sports in all its disciplines. So, it has organized a Student National
Championship with the participation of thousands of students.
