NBA superstar Dwyane Wade and his ex-wife are in fierce fighting for sole custody of their children in the custody trial held Tuesday in the North Illinois' Cook County Circuit Court.
The Miami Heat player was eager to have a safe and stable home for his two sons, ages 8 and 3, after ugly divorce with his ex-wife Siohvaughn Wade in June, Chicago's leading newspaper Chicago Tribune reported on Tuesday.
Siohvaughn is expected to testify on Tuesday's court, but the time for Wade's testification is still unclear.
Wade's lawyer accused the former wife of "bizarre" behavior and tampering with Wade's scheduled visitation time with the children as the custody started on Monday. Besides, the lawyer expected the behavior would continue and hurt the relationship between Wade and his children.
But Siohvaughn Wade's lawyer countered that the NAB star is simply too busy to take care of his sons.
Meanwhile, a court-appointed lawyer representing the Wade's two young children recommended that Wade should be granted sole custody.
Wade and Siohvaughn suffered for years in an ugly divorce that was finally settled in June. The divorce proceedings have been bitter, marked by allegations and lawsuits.
