Racing began on Sunday morning at the 39th World Rowing Championships on New Zealand's Lake Karapiro.
Thirty-three heats will be raced, starting with the men's coxless pair and finishing with three heats in the men's single scull.
New Zealand's Mahe Drysdale races in one of five heats in his class. His main competition is from Ondrej Synek from the Czech Republic, Alan Campbell from Britain and Olaf Tufta from Norway, but they race in separate heats.
Also racing on Sunday for New Zealand are the men's double scull, Peter Taylor and Storm Uru and the coxless pair of Bond and Murray. Both crews are current world champions.
