South Africa have risen one place to second in the International Rugby Board ratings thanks to their recent wins over Ireland and Wales.
According to Sport24 in South Africa, other teams which rose in the rankings are England and Argentina.
South Africa's Springboks reclaim the second place they lost to Australia during the Tri-Nations series in the year.
They beat Wales 29-25 at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on Saturday. Australia's Wallabies slide one place to third following a 35-18 loss to England, who rise to fourth at France's expense.
New Zealand's All Blacks enjoy a cushion of 6.34 points at the top over second-ranked South Africa. South Africa remain world champions, having won the Rugby World Cup in 2007. The next Rugby World Cup will be held in 2011.
