The Corinthians coaching staff revealed on Wednesday their tactics to keep Ronaldo on the field during their upcoming match in the heat and humidity of the north of Brazil.
The team, currently in first place, will face Vitoria in the city of Salvador on November 21 in the 36th round of the Brazilian Championship.
According to team doctor Bruno Maziotti, Ronaldo will receive special treatment in order to combat the high temperatures.
The team's physical therapist said the star striker's preparation for the afternoon match will begin in the early morning, and he will have to drink at least three liters of coconut water during the morning of the match.
Additionally, Maziotti will place wet towels on the Corinthians bench for players to continually refresh themselves during the match in hopes of diminishing the harsh effects of the environment in Salvador, Bahia.
Ronaldo's participation in Sunday's match will tally his seventh-straight match with the team, equaling his mark set in 2009.
Despite his limited play in this year's Brazilian Championship, Ronaldo has been a determining factor is each of the games he did play. In the nine matches he played, Corinthians won six games and tied three.
Corinthians currently stand in first place of the tournament with 63 points. In their last three games, the team will face Vitoria, host Vasco da Gama and end the tournament on the road against Goias.
