　　◆辨析 ①以－ly结尾的形容词： friendly友好的，lovely可爱的，lively生气勃勃的，likely可能的，silly愚蠢的，deadly致命的，ugly丑陋的，brotherly兄弟般的等。 Her singing was lovely. 她唱歌唱得真好听。 He spoke to me in a very friendly way. ②有些以－ly结尾的词，既可作形容词，也可作副词。 daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, early等。 The Times is a daily paper. The Times is published daily. 九、程度副词fairly, quite, rather, pretty的区别 1．rather, quite修饰形容词时，如果后面有一个可数名词，rather, quite可以置于不定冠词之前，也可以置于不定冠词之后。fairly则只能放在不定冠词之后(形容词之前)。 It's quite/rather a good idea. It's a quite/rather good idea. 那可真是个好主意。 a quite pleased afternoon 一个相当令人愉快的下午 a fairly strong wind 2．rather和quite可修饰动词，而其他几个副词一般不能这样用。 I quite agree with you. 我完全同意你(的意见)。 We rather like the film. 我们很喜欢这部电影。 3．与too连用或者修饰比较级时，只能用rather。 This book is rather too difficult for beginners. It's rather warmer today. 今天暖和多了。 4．修饰没有比较级、最高级的形容词(如right, wrong, ready, full, empty, perfect, impossible, alone等)通常只用quite，此时quite并不表示“相当”或“很”，而表示“完全”。 You're quite right(wrong)．你完全正确(错了)。 That's quite impossible. 那完全不可能。 ◆牢记若该结构中没有形容词，则quite和rather只能放在冠词之前。 It was quite/rather a failure. ◆警示注意与名词搭配时这些程度副词的位置。 ◆拓展有的程度副词(如quite, rather, almost等)可修饰动词，但有的(如fairly, pretty, very等)则不能修饰动词。 I quite agree with you. 我完全同意你的意见。(不用fairly, pretty, very) 【2012全国II】13.
