　　until “直到……”在句中作介词，与表时间的the fifteen century构

　　成介词短语；until也可作连词，引导一个时间状语从句。until的用

　　法分为两种情况。

　　(1)用于肯定句中时，指谓语动词所表示的动作或状态一直延续到

　　until所表示的时间为止，因此谓语动词要用延续性动词。

　　World War Ⅱ went on until Japan declared unconditional

　　surrender.

　　第二次世界大战一直持续到日本宣布无条件投降为止。(肯定句，

　　went on延续性动词)

　　She was sick in bed until yesterday.

　　她一直生病卧床休息到昨天为止。(肯定句，was sick in bed表状

　　态，可延续)

　　(2)用于否定句中，指谓语动词所表示的动作一直没有发生，直到

　　until所表示的时间才发生，谓语动词常用瞬间动词。
