　　Teachers can benefit from such help. New books can be marked Computers can be turned on or shut off properly. Teaching equipment can be cleaned and stored away. The list of jobs that parent volunteers can do is endless. Some schools even provide a coordinator to introduce these volunteers to teachers.

　　It is important to make sure volunteers feel useful and are given a variety of tasks to do. When a volunteer realizes there is no real contribution to make, he or she will not come back. Sometimes being given too many boring repetitive tasks drives volunteers away, too.

　　A teacher who wants to use the service of volunteers successfully should give time to the planning of tasks. Make a list of possible tasks for the volunteer to do. The tasks can be kept in a notebook. Information such as class schedule, names of students and school rules could also be included in the notebook. When the volunteer arrives, the teacher may not immediately have an opportunity to explain tasks. The volunteer can then check the notebook and pick a job on his or her own decision.
