　　(1)a quantity of或quantities of后既可接可数名词也可接不可数名词。

　　(2)“a quantity of＋名词”作主语时，谓语动词用单数；而“quantities of＋名词”作主语时，谓语动词用复数。

　　由于破坏了森林，大量的沙漠覆盖了陆地。
