　　congratulations to sb.on sth.祝贺某人某事

　　The two sportsmen congratulated_each_other on winning the match by shaking hands.两位运动员为赢得比赛握手致贺。

　　(牛津P417)You can congratulate yourself on having done an excellent job.你应该为你出色的工作感到自豪。

　　I want to express my sincere congratulations on your success.

　　我想对你的成功表示诚挚的祝贺。

　　辨析：celebrate与congratulate

　　两者的中文意思很接近，但在英语中却有所不同。

　　(1)celebrate意思是举行仪式、典礼的“庆祝”，只能用事(节日、胜利、成功等)作宾语，构成celebrate sth.。

　　(2)congratulate意思是“祝贺、道贺”，只能用人作宾语，若要表明所祝贺的事情，后面要用on(upon)连接，构成congratulate sb.on (upon) sth.。

　　People have decorated their houses to celebrate_Christmas.

　　人们把房子装饰一新来庆祝圣诞节。

　　We all congratulated Li Ming on his having passed the college entrance examination.我们都祝贺李明通过了高考。

　　access n．(接近的)方法；通路；可接近性；权利等；vt.获取
