　　Zhouzhuang is a town in Jiangsu Province，located 30 km southeast of Suzhou.

　　It has an area of half a square kilometer. Most of the Zhouzhuang’s structures were built during the Ming and Qing dynasties，which together lasted from 1368 to 1911.

　　Zhouzhuang is a popular tourist destination.Every year thousands of tourists come to visit it.It is one of the most typical water townships in China，well-known for its watery views，small bridges，the well-preserved ancient residential houses，and the local colored traditions and customs.Most houses are built along the river.It has been called the “Venice of the East”．
