Why does this word have such a vast range of meanings？How was it even made up？Well，“emo“ is short for ”emotional“，so obviously it was originally meant to describe over-emotional people.Yet somehow it came to take on meaning that seem to be quite remote from this one.I like to wear black a lot，for reasons of personal taste，not because I have any problems.I also have long，naturally dark hair.It’s long just because I prefer long hair，and I am in a band.Also，I’m not a very talkative person，because most of the time I’m occupied with writing songs，or something along those lines.In any case，all of this has caused people to start calling me an ”emo”．

　　Let me tell you what I think a real “emo” is，however.I think an “emo” is somebody who is constantly depressed，and always lets other people see his sadness or other negative feelings.I’m just tired of people who aren’t really “emo” being called that just because of their appearances，and not based on any knowledge of what they’re really like.
