　　I read a story about middle school students wearing brand name clothes, shoes and bags in your newspaper recently. This is happening around me, too.

　　In my school, students don’t need to wear uniforms except during some important activities. That means that the students have a great chance to wear cool and expensive brand name labels. Many students beg their parents to buy them expensive brand name clothes, shoes and bags, saying that their classmates are wearing those brands. Wearing brand name clothes has turned the students into walking billboards. Students wearing cheap and ordinary clothes or shoes fear that their classmates will not accept them if they don’t wear the latest designer labels. It causes a lot of pressure for students from lower income families. I think schools, our society and the media should teach students that brand name clothes aren’t any better than ordinary clothes. They just cost more. They should tell students that learning is the most important thing in school. I hope you can do something to help them.
