　　Hu Huaijiang stood in front of the robot greeter with his 8-year-old daughter for over half an hour."Anne is amazing,”Hu told the Shenzhen Daily. "Her useful functions as a robot, as well as her attractive appearance and nice shape as a greeter, have made her one of the most interesting items at the fair, and that's why my girl likes it so much."

　　Such a robot was able to arouse children' s deep interest and encourage their curiosity, Hu said, adding that the fair was a successful one, because items such as robots can interact with fair visitors.

　　"Anne has three major functions that the lab spent eight months to design, including giving directions and explanations, speaking with head, arm and waist gestures, as well as wifi (无线局域网) function," Fan Ruifeng, a professor at the laboratory, explained to the Shenzhen Daily.

　　"There are six ultrasonic detectors (超声探测器) inside her and they prevent her from falling downstairs. She can listen and talk to anyone, but not with a noisy background," Fan said.

　　The robot greeter is designed for exhibition centers, museums and large shopping malls, and the laboratory had already received some orders from museums, Fan said.
