　　13、escape ① vi. 逃跑；逃脱，常与from连用。escape本身已经含有“离开”的概念， 所以不与away或off连用。 She managed to escape from the burning car.

　　她终于从燃烧的汽车里逃了出来。 ② vt. 避开， 避免(不愉快或危险的事物)。后面可接动名词， 但无被动语态。 Jerry narrowly escaped being killed. 杰瑞险些丧命。 ③ n. 逃跑， 逃脱， 解脱 have a narrow escape 九死一生 完成句子。 1. 他险些丧命。 He narrowly escaped being killed / death.

　　2. 他今天早上从监狱里逃跑了。 He escaped　2. from prison this morning.

　　3. 她逃脱惩罚真是幸运。 She was lucky to escape punishment/being punished.

　　4. 我记不起她的名字了。 Her name escapes me.

　　14、survive

　　① vt. 比……活得长；从……中生还 Mary survived her husband by three years.

　　丈夫死后， 玛丽又活了3年。 ② vi. 幸存；存留下来， 保存下来 Tom didn't survive long after the accident.

　　事故过后没多久汤姆就去世了。 survival n. 幸存， 残存，生存 survivor n. 幸存者 surviving adj. 活着的， 残存的 完成句子。 洪水过后， 庄稼还是活下来了。
