　　Dear Mr. Jackson，

　　I'm very sorry to say that I will be unable to attend the outing you have organized for us on Sunday morning. I broke my foot yesterday afternoon while playing football with my classmates. The doctor advised me not to take any outdoor activity and stay in bed for some time until my foot recovers. It's a great pity for me to miss such a good chance to spend time with you and my fellow classmates. I would be very thankful if you could give me your kind understanding. In the end, I hope the trip goes well and all of you have a lot of fun.
