　　Thisproverbwassaidtobefirstusedinthe1500s.Butinthe1960s，theexpression“rollingstone”becamefamousintheworldofrock­and­rollmusic.Itbecamethenameofasong，arockgroupandamagazine.

　　ExpertssayitallstartedwithasongbytheAmericansingerandguitaristMuddyWaters.Hewasoneofthecountry’stopbluesmusiciansuntilhisdeathin1983.HismusicinfluencedsingerslikeElvisPresleyandBobDylan.In1950，MuddyWatersrecordedasongcalled“RollingStone”．

　　ABritishrockgroupissaidtohavetakenitsnamefromMuddyWaters’song.TheRollingStonesperformedforthefirsttimein1962.Thegroup’smemberscalledthemselves“theworld’sgreatestrockandrollband”

　　In1965，BobDylanreleasedhissong“LikeaRollingStone”．Itisoneofhisbestknownandmostinfluentialworks.

　　Itisanangrysongaboutawomanwhowasoncerichandsuccessful.Butnowsheisonherown，“withnodirectionhome，likeacompleteunknown，likearollingstone”．

　　In1967，ayoungmannamedJannWennerstartedamagazineandhenamedit“RollingStone”．Themagazinereportedonrockmusicandthepopularculturethatthemusiccreated.By1971，“RollingStone”hadbecometheleadingrockmusicandcounterculturepublication.Itisstillpopulartoday.
