　　come to live in a 36­foot RV? Where do the kids go to school? Where do they go to the bathroom? What if they want some privacy? And how do 12 kids and their parents co­exist in such a compact (紧凑) space without going crazy?

　　“You become a tight little unit where you rely on each other.Family roles change, and everyone becomes more of an equal member of the family，” father Dan Kellogg says.“When you’re traveling, everyone has a different task than they do at home.Parents and children study maps and solve problems together.Above all，working as a team strengthens bonds.We are such a close family.We just all help each other.”

　　Young travelers learn increased responsibility.Even when their children were 4,6 and 8 years old, parents gave them real responsibilities.The 8­year­old was Kady Kellogg, keeping an eye out for her younger sisters, making sure the group stayed together and was holding hands.

　　When you take a child out of his or her daily environment, it opens new windows of understanding of the world.On trips within the United States, kids will notice differences from state to state, city to city.You can help your kids understand the historical events that shaped American cities, and help them spot evidence of cultural influences.
