Stonehenge is still one of the world's great mysteries. Who built it? Why? And how?Around 3rcle of standing stones in the middle of a green field in Wiltshire.It is Britain's most important ancient monument.
There is evidence that it was a burial site.It is believed to have astronomical,spiritual or even supernatural meaning.Unfortunately,these days a couple of major roads rush by on either side ruining the vista,but Stonehenge still manages to retain its magic and mystery.People flock there all year around.
Since 1986,Stonehenge has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.The distance from central London is about 87 miles and takes around 2 hours by car.

Recommended last admission time is no later than 30 minutes before the advertised closing time.When weather conditions are bad,access may be restricted and visitors may not be able to use the walkway around the stone circle.
