except，except for，except that 只表示“除……外”。except后接名词、代词；except for后接词组或短语，句子主语可视作一个整体(或主体)，except for后面的可视作部分(或附属的东西)；except that后接句子。

　　apart from 表示“除……外，还……”，相当于in addition to或besides(介词)，表示“除……外”，相当于except for。
