　　定语从句关系词的考查，首先要确定从句是定语从句，然后找到先行词，再分析关系词在从句中的成分，最后选择正确的词。如果定语从句中缺少主宾表或定语，就用关系代词that/which/who/whose引导，如果做宾语，可以省略关系代词，如果定语从句中不缺主宾表，缺少的是状语，用关系副词when，where，why引导定语从句，如果定语从句中缺少介词+先行词，就用介词+关系代词。要求考生具有一定的句子分析能力，和理解能力。一些抽象意义的地点状语，如：situation，point，case，如果定语从句缺少地点状语，用where引导定语从句。

　　先行词是the exact year，定语从句中的动词spent，后面缺少宾语，所以用关系代词that或which引导定语从句，不能用关系副词。
