When we moved to America, basketball, volleyball, and track were the only choices __4__. I had been known as a fast __5__ when I was younger, so I signed up for track. I made it and was fast enough to be selected for the 200m×4 relay. __6__， because I had piano lessons every Monday and had to miss practice once a week, I was unable to __7__ my spot in the relay and some other girl took it. Track slowly floated away from me as I continued to miss practice to attend my __8__ lessons.

　　Gradually, the image of “sportswoman” no longer __9__ me. I began to dislike gym class, even though it had been one of my favorite classes when I was younger. I also hated __10__ sports, such as basketball, volleyball. When I stopped playing sports, I started gaining __11__. On top of that, I had stopped growing taller as well. I was very depressed that my body became so short and fat. The summer before the last year of high school, I decided to start running again. That summer, I felt very happy that I lost about twenty pounds.

　　Sticking with something even if you don’t think you’re very good at it is just a lesson of endurance(忍耐力). I never __12__ that endurance. I let small things, like diving boards, get in my way of achieving great potential.

　　Play a sport and stick with it. Whatever you’re doing, if it’s worthwhile, stick with it. You won’t regret it.
