　　7．or　此处表示选择关系，因此填并列连词or。

　　8．that/which　此处为定语从句，修饰先行词a timer，因关系词替代先行词在从句中作主语，所以可填that或which。

　　9．off　根据语境及空前的“on and”可知，此处用off，表示关灯。

　　10．keep　定语从句的先行词为sensitive lights，且定语从句中谓语动词的数应和先行词一致，应用keep。

　　(2016·山西大学附中第五次模拟)One year ago, I was in great trouble. I worked hard at English and devote all my spare time to practise it. But I failed to pass the mid­term examination, which made me great disappointed. So I asked my grandpa for advice when I got to home. You can’t judge your progress by one examination.” He encouraged myself to work hard for long time to check my results. I took my grandpa’s advice.
