　　Several days ago, I read a story about Florence Chadwick, who first failed to swim from Catalina Island to the California coast because of fog. However, trying again, she succeeded and became the first woman to make it, with her goal in mind despite dense fog/ though it was still foggy.

　　After reading it, I am deeply inspired by how she succeeded. Her story gives me the strength to pursue my goal, no matter what hardships I am to go through. Her experience makes me aware of the power of a goal in helping one succeed in what he wants to do. Goals are undoubtedly playing an important role in our life. First of all, as goals often go with hopes, they have the magic to enable us to be positive towards ups and downs. Moreover, bearing goals in mind, we are less likely to be blind to the ideals of our life or be distracted from our way to success. Finally, as goals are what we are longing for, they thus can motivate us to strive for greater achievements, making our life more satisfactory/ fulfilling.

　　Since / Now that goals are so significant to our life, we students are supposed to set goals in life/ it is advocated that every one of us should set goals, keep them in mind and spare no effort/ make every effort to achieve them regardless of all the difficulties.
