People supporting it hold the following reasons. For one thing, they think English is too difficult for some students to reach the required standard. For another, it takes too much to study it. However, some people are strongly against it. From their own experiences, English plays a key role in their further study and career. What’s more, the reform may, in a way, impose more burdens on students rather than reduce. 

　　As far as I am concerned, I support the reform because if so, students can decide how well they should learn English by themselves according to their interest and major.
