　　Today is the 22nd World Water Day. In the morning, we had a class meeting to make preparations for the afternoon activities.

　　At 2：00 pm, we went to the neighboring community to hand out leaflets, calling on people to save water. At around 3 o'clock, the expert made an excellent speech to us on the current water crisis. He talked about the drought and the severe shortage of water in the north­west of China. The speech had a strong appeal to all the students present. After that, we had a discussion with our neighbors about various ways of saving water in our daily life. I suggested turning off the tap immediately after using it, and a middle­aged woman came up with many ideas of reusing the water from kitchen.

　　Now, I have really had a better understanding of the importance of saving water.
