the last summer vacation in the Cambridge University, he went to France where he saw the French Revolution. The years from 1793 to 1798 were an important period in his life during which he suffered from great depression. But then he successfully overcame it.Since 1795, he lived a relatively lonely life in the Lake District with his sister, and devoted to writing poetry while enjoying a peaceful and free life. Three years later he published an epoch-making book with Samuel Taylor ColeLyrical Ballads.
The publication of this book has been taken as a historical event marking the beginning of English Romanticism in poetry.
His reputation as a poet was well established in the late 1830s and began to soar in the 1840s.
Wordsworth wrote a large number of poems. The themes are mainly around nature, children and simple country life.
Out of this reason, he was called nature poet or democratic poet. His poetic creation and theory of poetry left great influence upon later romanticists such as Keats and Shelley.
