　　Before he left, I handed him a bag of his favorite type of doughnuts (炸面圈) along with his iced coffee. He looked at me skeptically because he hadn’t ordered anything else except iced coffee.

　　He smiled and thanked me before turning around and heading back out into the rain.

　　The next day was a horrible one. The rain kept pouring down and I spent my afternoon hanging out the window, handing people their orders. What’s worse, no one felt like tipping (给小费) that day.
