RIO DE JANEIRO, May 2 -- Highly rated Brazilian teenager William Camargo has signed a five-year deal with Spanish top-flight club Leganes.
The 18-year-old joined the Madrid-based outfit after leaving Brazilian Serie A giants Sao Paulo over a pay dispute, according to the striker's father.
"He has been there (in Spain) since March 11," Carlos Camargo told ESPN Brasil on Tuesday. "He is liking it and adapting quickly."
Camargo will initially play with Leganes' B team, but the club will have the option to promote him to the first team squad.
Leganes are currently in a fight to avoid relegation after being promoted to Spain's top division last year for the first time in their 89-year history.
