　　W: Hey, Jim. I didn’t know you biked to work.

　　M: Yeah, it helps me keep fit and helps the environment, too.

　　W: One less car on the road means less pollution.

　　M: Right. Since my work is near a park, it’s a really nice ride, too.

　　W: How far is it?

　　M: Oh, about 10 miles. It takes me about an hour.

　　W: That doesn’t sound too bad. I wish I could do it, but I work in the city. So I take a two-hour train ride to go to work every day.

　　M: You’re doing your part for the environment by using public transportation, too.

　　W: True. Well, see you tomorrow.

　　M: See you.

　　W: I can’t fit into my favorite sweaters anymore. I’m going on a diet.

　　M: Well, I think you look fine. You shouldn’t worry about it.

　　W: Are you kidding? Being overweight is a huge disadvantage, especially for women. People will look down on you; it’s difficult to find nice clothes; and sometimes it’s even hard to get a job.

　　M: All right, that may be true if you’ve really fat, but you’re only slightly overweight.

　　W: You see, you do think I’m fat. Now, I’m definitely going on a diet, something that’ll work quickly. There’s a new one in this magazine.

　　M: That’s crazy. Don’t you know that most diets just don’t work? Within a few months over 95 percent of people have put the weight back on.
