ULAN BATOR, June 4 -- Slovenia's Piran won the Ulan Bator 3x3 Challenger, beating Melbourne i-Athletic of Australia 14-12 in the final on Sunday, the organizers said on Monday.
Piran, the No. 4 team in the world, became the first team to win three Challengers this season. Previously, they took home 10,000 U.S. dollars in both Penang and Sydney.
Seven of the top 23 teams in the world and a total of 16 teams from nine countries competed at the Ulan Bator Challenger.
The next Challengers will be held in Hangzhou, China and Limassol, Cyprus on June 16-17, just after the FIBA 3x3 World Cup.
