KUNMING, April 18 -- Australia's Jordan Thompson, the top seed who enjoyed a bye in first two rounds, defeated his compatriot player Max Purcell in the third round of Kunming Tennis Open on Wednesday.
There were eight men's singles 32 to 16 round, including six Australian players. Thompson has participated in this competition for six consecutive years. He is 25 years old and is currently ranked 67th in ATP.
